The annual concurrent exercises seeing bombers into Fairford is nearly upon us
BALTOPS = Monday 05/06/2017 - Saturday 24/06/2017 SABRE STRIKE = Tuesday 06/06/2017 - Friday 23/06/2017
It is guessed that bomber(s) will arrive at Fairford on, or around, Friday 02/06/2017. Probably B-52Hs and, maybe (see below) B-1Bs
Today (24/05/2017) saw "CMB533" Omni Air International B767 N207AX arrive at Fairford at 08.17BST with support staff. Interestingly, the flight originated at Ellsworth AFB, SD (B-1B base), then went to Barksdale AFB, LA (B-52H base) before coming here.
Departed 11.08BST.

There are two (possibly four) suspicious ALTRVs over refuelling area AR20(NE) - the full SW/NE length of Nova Scotia from YQI to YQY.
MIGHT be for something in the bomber line for Fairford.
Further details later.

Looks like the B-1(s) will be arriving - (absolutely) guessing mid-morning to around lunchtime. As a caveat, though, it (they) might possibly do a mission before recovering to Fairford in the afternoon.

The first attempt was a KC-10 serial anyway.
Possibly better luck with AMPLE STRIKE in August/September, Dave?

TASS
June 6, 2017
MOSCOW — Russia’s Sukhoi-27 fighter jet has intercepted and escorted a U.S. B-52 bomber, which was flying along Russia’s border over the Baltic Sea, the Defense Ministry has told the media.
“On June 6 Russia’s airspace monitoring means at 10:00 Moscow time identified an air target flying along Russia’s state border over the international waters of the Baltic Sea. A Sukhoi-27 fighter jet of the Baltic Sea Fleet’s air defense force was dispatched to intercept the target,” the statement runs.
“The crew of Russia’s Sukhoi-27 jet approached the aircraft staying at a safe distance, identified it as a U.S. strategic bomber B-52 and escorted it for some time,” the Defense Ministry said.

The first attempt was a KC-10 serial anyway. Possibly better luck with AMPLE STRIKE in August/September, Dave? Or with luck, the third B1 supposedly due later today? Once went to Dyess and didn't make a single B1.
