Nothing to do with the exercise, but B-1B 86-0120/EL y emergency diverted into Fairford at lunchtime today whilst heading home to Ellsworth from Ramstein - where it has been for a few weeks after a (different) emergency landing.
It has parked up the Western end.

Credit FC. Bob - I know how disappointed you would be if it wasn't one I'd photographed before. Langley, Va show 1991. As far as I can remember its the only one I ever graphed in Kansas ANG marks before the B1s got consolidated at Dyess & Ellsworth.

Certainly doesn't look like that now!!
Covers off behind the nose cone and people working on it this evening. Easily visible from the Marston Meysey crash gate.
Cheers,
Bob.

Have now missed a B2 and a B52 then! Planning on going tomorrow- is 86-0120 still there?
I would need that and 86-0139 so would still be a worthwhile visit.

They both are at the moment, but I do not know what movements (if any) are planned/rumoured for tomorrow.
Go to the Marston Meysey crash gate.
Unless it is going tomorrow, the B-2 is not visible in the RH hangar (view from the 27 end).

Thanks Bob - I'll look for the remaining B2, but not needed, so doesn't matter too much if I don't see it.
I can hang about or return if the B1s are on missions. Need to get to Heathrow for 6ish for my flight to Paris!
Thanks again

Hi Guys,
Couldn't post last night but Dave (Basing) and I went across to Fairford yesterday to catch the visitors... Couldn't see all of them but the following were noted:
B-52 60-0002 60-0021
B-1B Lancer 85-0083 85-0084 86-0120 86-0129
We also managed to see the Turkish C-130E that went into Brize; 73-0991.
We also had a brief visit to Kemble but I'll post the list on the Relevant thread.
Cheers Boys.

The only visitor you missed out on, Bill, was the remaining B-2 - which wasn't visible anyway. One B-52 and 1 B-2 had already gone home (in the morning).
By the way, the last B-1 in your list is 86-0139.
A couple of NOTAMs have been posted which seem to be for them, and it looks like there will be a mass clear out on Monday. B-1s leaving around 09.45BST and the B-2 leaving around 14.30BST.
