A dead day really.

Departure 10.46BST "RAIDER11" 166382/QB
Lakenheath The two F-22As arrived from Fairford to await their (delayed) tanker.
F-15Cs and the SP F-16Cs were doing plenty of flying.
Missed the usual provision of data from ADS-B today, I think all the sharers must have been down at Fairford. LOL. Missed seeing the Turks and Ukrainians flying over to get their room to refuel before heading out over Belgium and home.
Sorry about the late post, but a few hours in A&E at Bury St. Edmonds rather put paid that. Didn't get back until 04.00, but all is well.

Lakenheath Usual F-15Cs and SP F-16s flying today. The Ramstein C-130J did more paradropping.
Two F-15s (believed to be F-15Cs) departed to CONUS for rework as "RETRO81" Flt with "BLUE31/32" from Mildenhall
Mildenhall Arrival 13.03BST "RCH865" 60-0355 KC-135R 92ARW........no tailband or nose unit marks
Departures 11.15BST "BLUE31" 63-8014 ).............taking "RETRO81" Flt to CONUS for rework 11.15BST "BLUE32" 58-0009 )
Hopes were high when "FAF9025" (E-3F #203) requested the Mildenhall weather, but when he contacted Mildenhall again it was only to get the weather for his home base(Avord AB in France)
Two no-shows/cancellations were a KC-10 and a McConnell KC-135.
Tomorrow's another day.

Mildenhall Arrivals 06.54BST "RCH146" 61-0292 KC-135R 22ARW............no markings............did o/shoot at 06.49 07.41BST "FALCN03" 84-0126 C-21A 76AS 10.54BST "RCH607" 59-1508 KC-135R 92ARW............still in full McConnell marks (possibly on long-term loan to Fairchild) 11.06BST "ASCOT409" ZM407 Atlas C.1 BNTW.............fast fly through, then to Honington for fly-by 11.27BST "VALOR21" 84-0085 C-21A 76AS..............circuit training 12.58BST "SAM876" 99-0004 C-32A 89AW.............circuit training, then to Prestwick. 20.32BST "CNV6203" 164993/BD C-130T VR-64 Departures 08.18BST "FALCN03" 84-0126 09.56BST "RCH865" 60-0355 10.??BST "PULP41" 12-5757............to CONUS 21.17BST "CNV6203" 164993/BD........to Stansted
The circuits were to a very strange pattern today. Runway 11 approach, then turn right just short of the runway, turn left onto 29 downwind and complete with a sharp turn left back onto 29 short finals for the fly through. Odd, to put it mildly.
Usual F-15/F16 flying today at Lakenheath. "HKY61" C-130J 07-8608 did some para-dropping and then went home to Ramstein.
Mildenhall is NOTAM'ed closed now (for runway centreline painting) until 16.00BST Sunday - but there should be a few movements.

Saturday 22nd July 2017
As expected, a day without any movements at all.
Tomorrow should see the place re-open and hopefully a movement or two (or more).
Also tomorrow, the Raptors should be departing Lakenheath around 10.30BST. Their KC-10A 86-0030 "CLEAN81" is at Prestwick, so we will have to wait and see if there will be any tanking en route (there are two KC-135s at Lakenheath - thought to be 58-0069 and 61-0288).

Lakenheath No visitors but plenty of flying all day by the Spang F-16s and based F-15Cs (plus a couple of F-15Es).
Mildenhall Woke up to find my first pot had already arrived and then a fairly new MC-130J on a (very) quick turnaround provided a second quality one.

Well, the rain started about 18.00 and hasn't really left off.
Mildenhall Arrivals 09.37BST "RCH800" 59-1495 KC-135R 173ARS/Nebraska ANG 11.21BST "CNV6565" 169036 C-40A VR-61..............................caught up with it at last
Departures 09.25BST "RCH109" 62-3503.............the outgoing "NACHO" TDY machine 12.28BST "CNV6565" 169036
The incoming "NACHO" will be from 756ARS at Andrews AFB, but it cancelled for today (apparently).
SOG row is looking very depleted with only two MC-130Js (11-5731 and 13-5778) left sitting on it. Four are on deployment and three are in CONUS, though it would appear that 10-5714 is on its way back (arrive back tomorrow?). EDIT:- "PLOW41" 10-5714 arrived back at Mildenhall at 22.08BST this evening.
The 16 x 494FS LN F-15Es (red fintips) are due back from Red Flag 17-3 tomorrow evening around 18.00-19.00 (Shanwick NOTAM posted yesterday), with (hopefully) 3 x KC-10s. Fingers crossed they are all Travis based ones and that I can make more than just the one I know about already ("CLEAN61" is 84-0185).

Monday 7th August 2017
As you can see from the changed thread title, we have extended again and then we have to go home - for a while!!
Lakenheath
F-15 sorties are going to be well ramped up the next couple of weeks. Counted 48 launches from 07.00-12.00 and a further 26 during 15.15-17.00. I missed those from 14.00-15.15 through lunch and shopping in town. One visitor:-
14.21BST "TYPHOON27" ZK310/310 Typhoon no marks.........single approach
Mildenhall Arrivals 10.04BST "RCH565" 58-0071 KC-135T 22ARW............no fin band 10.40BST "CNV6801" 165093 C-20G VR-48 13.01BST "SAM134" 99-0003 C-32A 1AS..............circuit bashing for over 1½ hours 13.11BST "RCH960" 58-0016 KC-135R 92ARW............"Fairchild" fin band 13.29BST "TUAF805" 15-0051 A400M Turkish AF 16.58BST "VALOR76" 84-0126 C-21A 76AS
Departures 11.50BST "CNV6801" 165093 17.59BST "VALOR76" 84-0126
The Turkish A400 was a nice surprise as we had been expecting it tomorrow.
Air Res posted for tomorrow which should, in theory, be for the remaining 4 x F-15Es of 494FS returning from Red Flag 17-3. But, you never know - as the time block is one hour longer than normal!! Earliest arrival should be around 15.30. Eyes peeled on ADS-B at the East Coast of USA tomorrow morning.

Very much a non-day. The Transatlantic crossing was aborted on the other side, so we wait for the next NOTAM. There was no "surge" of Lakenheath launches today - think they managed two (!?!?) after lunch and two Pavehawks have gone up this evening.
Mildenhall
About the only thing to brighten my day was a (huge) gap-filler Tornado doing an approach.
Arrivals 14.56BST "MRH19" ZA550/042 Tornado Marham Wing..........single approach 15.54BST "CNV6961" 169036 C-40A VR-61 15.56BST "RG02" 152159/46 C-2A VRC-40
Departures 08.34BST "TUAF805" 15-0051 09.03BST "RCH565" 58-0071 10.01BST "RG02" 152159/46 10.31BST "RCH960" 58-0016 17.07BST "CNV6961" 169036
Let's see what tomorrow will bring in between the (forecast) sunshine/showers, rain and thunder. Lovely....not!!

Wednesday 9th August 2017
Good evening from a waterlogged (almost) Mildenhall. The weather has been abysmal all day with heavy, sometimes torrential, rain until about 17.00.
Lakenheath Despite the rain, a total of 48 launches were managed - which I suppose was not bad considering. All these were in pairs with no 3- or 4-ship formations. I think only 8 F-15Es from 494FS went up, with the rest all being F-15C/Ds from 493FS. One early visitor from Ramstein.
Arrival 07.05BST "HKY61" 08-8604/RS C-130J 37AS
Departure 07.5?BST "HKY61" 08-8604/RS
Mildenhall Arrivals 06.43BST "RCH458" 61-0308 KC-135R 22ARW........not visited the 'Hall for 15 years, has been at Kadena 07.26BST "RCH404" 87-0122 KC-10A 305AMW 10.13BST "RCH250" 60-0355 KC-135R 92ARW.........no fin band 11.31BST "CNV6004" 169036 C-40A VR-61 17.2?BST "RG02" 162159/46 C-2A VRC-40 18.29BST "RG01" 162168/45 C-2A VRC-40
Departures 07.38BST "RG01" 162168/45 10.25BST "RCH404" 87-0122 12.29BST "RG02" 162159/46 12.40BST "CNV6004" 169036 12.47BST "RUPEE41" 12-5757.................based MC-130J off on a day trip to the Med, routing down through France
Unfortunately "CLEAN43" and "RETRO91-93" failed to make it back over the pond today (fighters broken). This was highly annoying as I need the KC-135R and two or three of the fighters (depending on which ones they send back from WR-ALC). Fingers crossed for tomorrow - and that they do not change the tanker when they do come!!

Thursday 10th August 2017
What a change from yesterday!! A beautiful sunny day and quite warm, but quite a lot of fair weather cloud as well.
Lakenheath On Rwy06 all day. Surge in the morning with the F-15Cs doing most of the sorties, although about 6 F-15Es did participate.
Visitors 09.50BST "BAF215" FB-20 F-16B Belgian Air Component.........Departed sometime in afternoon 13.16BST ("BLKHD1" ZA370/004 Tornado Marham Wing).....................Formation ILS Approach ("BLKHD2" ZG775/134 Tornado Marham Wing)

Cambridge On ADS-B this afternoon, I noticed "BDN60" - the Boscombe Down Hercules ZH866 - on approach to Cambridge and therefore made a quick dash down there in the hope of finishing off my RAF Hercs. No joy, so it must have just done an approach.
Other than the usual stored Hercs, Swedish AF C-130H 84007/847 was doing engine runs.
A NOTAM is up for another attempt by the RETRO flight to come across tomorrow, so we will see what gives on that. If they are going for the earliest time of 30W at 12.47BST, the tanker will hopefully depart Pease ANGB, NH at around 09.30BST, so they should be with us around 15.15 -15.45. The fighters are in St. Johns, by the way (serials not reported).
