A good evening for SE Asian heavies out of LHR, made HL7644 748 Korean, B-7868 my last China Eastern 773 and B-16739 773 EVA, missed it on its first visit last week. Also made gap-filler N823AN 789 American through a convenient gap in the clouds on the AA49 CDG-DFW, now have 801-28.

Some torrential downpours here today, and strong breeze blowing clouds rapidly giving some breaks. Managed four (three frames, one scrape). A quick drop in at Egginton produced nothing new. N128UA Boeing 747 – 422, United Airlines N782UA Boeing 777 – 222, United Airlines LN-LNI Boeing 787 – 9 Dreamliner, Norwegian Long Haul (scrape of EI-LNI) N901FD Boeing 757 – 2B7(SF), FedEx The upside was momentary crystal clear skies which gave me a few lovely photos, including these two of TF-ISJ out from BHX, & London bound G-CIVJ (which was at FL29) (neither needed log wise)

Definite day of today - missing four needed AMC machines.
1st off missed (i.e. did not have the time to make the trip) an AFRC C-17 in Fairford, then an ANG C-17 in beautiful blue sky (which I could not see for looking), next a Travis-based C-5 due cloud and, this afternoon a Hickam-based C-17 as the black clouds had just covered its track.
Most frustrating!!

Rain and low cloud meant I could not see B-16730 773 EVA which just went overhead on the BR68, would have been my 6th of the month! But did make A6-EPZ 773 Emirates on the EK212 IAH-DXB, mopping them up slowly now they do not visit LHR but still need 9. Also D-ASTF 319 Germania heading for the Canaries, 4X-EDA 789 El Al on LHR departure and G-SSKP AS365 flying locally.

Just one in daylight hours, M-AJOR AW169 flying locally. But it all happened after dark, B-16731 773 EVA and SU-GEL 738 Egyptair went overhead on LHR departure, B-8385 333 Air China was visible as it turned north, 9H-AHR 320 Air Malta was a scrape (ex Iberia) and N146QS GLEX was a frame heading WNW at FL410.

Crazy day of from home spotting, in between home working and painting the kitchen whilst keeping an eye on the radar, to say nothing of the on/off weather. I haven't had a day like this for airliners in a long time, more plastering than filling! As I started this two years ago and spot mostly from home I'd expect to be behind the curve but this was unusual all the same, and of course enjoyable. Again, best after dark with yet another EVA 773 overhead B-16733, HA-LXP 321 Wizz out of BHX and F-HTTO GLEX out of OXF. Scrapes were N617EA Gulf 5,M-ORAT F.7X and N724MF GLEX.
Generally clear skies this afternoon, but really annoying, a heavy shower blotted out vision just as needed Austral 773 F-OREU went overhead!

Been rather iffy all day here Dave, started off lovely then cloudy, got soaked walking the dogs between 2pm and 3.30pm and now it's clear skies again. Leaving for LGW late this evening, we have a 0630 BST flight to Kefalonia where we will languish in 30c heat for a week. Jeff's in Turkey where it's even hotter so Bill is running the show, be gentle with him please!

Did I make yet another EVA 773 on LHR departure? Of course I did! B-16730 just went overhead below the cloud despite the persistent drizzle. Others this evening were C-FALI BD.350 and N650GD Gulf 650, this reg has been used at least 3 times but I think the current holder is c/n 6252. Scrapes were D-AGRA CRJ200 operating for British Midland and EC-MFS 734 Alba Star.
