After 4 days of not seeing anything let alone making anything I now have two in the book for today: G-VZIG B787 Virgin Atlantic C-GPPX GBX 6000 (looked as though it was inbound Farnborough) Have a good day all. Been a good day so far with 3 more added: A40-BY B737 Oman Air (delivery flight) C-GJDR Challenger 300 EI-FIE B737 Ryanair (I missed this earlier today as it routed Rome-Dublin but it has just gone back in the opposite direction). One more for the notebook,Thomas Cook's brand new A321 G-TCDH on TCX6014 Newcastle-Enfidha has just gone over.

Bob, remind me nearer the time and I'll let you know what I know. Larnaca can be very quiet at times but obviously a few gems turn up every day particularly in the Summer with more flights. Judith

UR-CKM AN-12 had brilliant lights over the SAM last night - too good to be true - but there was nothing else going in that direction! . PRWQY GLF5 came out over us, didn't need that one, but I did need PRBPT.. So of course it slowly climbed over Newbury, at 8000ft - no chance - maybe if it was 10,000ft higher and had good lights! ? Made nothing yesterday despite the hazy sunshine. Back to the gloom today - B-5933 needed A330 of Air China currently inbound to LHR 09 but won't be able to see it through the murk!
Cloud predicted for tomorrow morning's eclipse.

Noted a few on arrival/ departure from Larnaca today. Highlight , for me any way , was PGH-02 H369 Argentinian A.F. on U.N. duties which overflew the house.

Just passed over the IOW was RG01 162176 USN C2A according to my radar, but 162150 is showing on plane finder. assume this is in connection with the US carrier visiting the Solent. Went over at FL110,sounded fantastic, shame I couldn't see the bloody thing!!

Morning Bob
Contrary to the forecast which was for dull and grey all day, it's wall to wall sunshine here at Devizes International. I've made a couple of Scandinavians trailing to the south but missed G-EUYY, my second last BA A320.

Not a bad day considering it was 100% cloud cover throughout. Made 3 on LHR approach, N801AC 787 of American, B-5968 A330 of China Eastern and, a few minutes ago B-KQV 777 of Cathay....and a late night addition, TC-JMN A321 of Turkish, a fairly recent fleet addition ex Kingfisher.
Today would have been my mum's 100th birthday.... but no telegram from the queen, she died in 1997 while I was on holiday in Australia.

My mum would have been 100 last year, we had a family gathering in her absence so she would have been chuffed. She passed away at the ripe old age of 95, 5 years ago. But I did have an uncle (John) who did receive the Queen's telegram and sadly died at an even riper old age of 100 years and 113 days... Nice to remember.... God bless. Bill

Morning Bob. Grey and claggy here, some serious clearing up required before I'm likely to see much. But the outlaws are here anyway which in itself is always purgatory let alone the fact that their three day residence here means I can't meet the lads at Turweston today.
Good day yesterday though, as they cleared off out for most of the day and we had clear skies meaning I potted eleven.

Lovely afternoon here too, made D-ABYR 748 routing FRA-IAD, my first OTT for several days.
Took advantage of the sunshine and visited Fairoaks, White Waltham, Booker and Denham. Did not go airside anywhere and only logged those I didn't recognise as regulars, will let you know what I made once I have checked my spreadsheets.

Have now checked my spreadsheets for this afternoon's outing. Made the following-
Fairoaks - my local field, so don't expect much. Just one, but quality - OH-JRD PC-12
White Waltham - was busy with plenty of visitors G-CJSA NAMC CJ-6A G-JEBS C.172S G-OCRM Slingsby T67M G-MODE Eurocopter 120B G-PAYD Robin DR400/180 G-YTLY Rans s.6 F-BXCP Broussard F-GODV CAP-232
Booker - not much glider activity considering the conditions. G-BNKR C.152 G-GMGH R.66 G-PERF Eurocopter 120B N44829 R.66
Denham - fairly busy, but mainly residents circuit-bashing G-KCIN PA28.161 N89NB Cirrus SR22 N141KJ Cirrus SR22 N808VT PA28R
17 in total, not bad, but could have been better!
