A frustrating day, could not spot VP-BLO Aeroflot 320 SU2571 or A6-BNA Etihad 789 EY10 through the gloom on LHR departure. Brightened up later, made OO-SFG Brussels 330 BRU-JFK and D-CHLR E.505 inbound LTN but that was it.

Unusual Eva 777 this evening. B16733 in the book. There was a period in September 2017 when all the B-1673x visited on the BR67 (there is no 16734, 4 is an unlucky number in China). Rarer are the B-1672x, I have only recorded 16726 and 16729. Back to the mundane today, B-16706.

I was extremely fortunate in seeing the two that I did need (1st and 3rd). Inconvenient large white fluffiness obscured the 2nd and the 4th one diverted up to the airlane missing me out completely, although it was temporarily 100% clag here at the time. Couldn't even hear it.
07-4638 was RCH101, by the way.

A6-EVG looks like it was diverting to LHR, but LGW re-opened in time. Just made this frame crossing the Thames as it re-diverted back to LGW. Eva B16727 has also just hit the book; a good end to the day!

It didn’t end there. The light held just long enough to catch Rossiya A320, VP-BWI climb out from LGW after this evening’s chaos.

As I usually do, I walked the pooches out at the grass strip at Coate this afternoon, heard an engine and saw this contraption going along the strip. I spoke to the owner on the way back who informed me that they were conducting taxiing trials. Best of luck to them. No reg on it by the way.

3 LHR departures today, 320neos EC-NDN IB3171 to MAD and CS-TVD TP1359 to LIS, plus A7-AMK 350 QR8 to DOH.
Also made D-AECD E.190 Lufthansa LH983 SNN-FRA plus XA-OVR GLEX c/n 9564 inbound LTN, also saw this reg on GLEX c/n 9119. (Edit) and a late night extra, my first Egyptair 789 SU-GER MS982 IAD-CAI.
Missed N553CG 738 ex Jet, still showing as VT-JBK on FR24, heading for SNN.
Sorry, finger slip shows me as liking my own post!

Not too bad a day yesterday with the following logged:

Caught A320 N CS-TVD into LHR and PC12 PR-VSP into Biggin before heading down to LGW for a silly o’clock pick up of friends. Went early to catch A6-EUV, also saw 9H-MIP in its new identity for the first time, parked alongside B777 P4-XTL. Maroc A320 CN-NMM and Vueling A320n EC-NBA made the long wait worthwhile.

Two for me today.
At last I have managed to see "QAF1" the Qatar Emiri B748BBJ A7-HHE, which is not exactly common over this side of the country. Also, "GNY4536" P-3C 60+01 coming down TR1 at still over FL200 to go to Yeovilton Show.

Yes, I made A6-HHE also, think it went into STN. Also N301SR BBJ and 2-RNLD C.525 - N524AG Gulf 5, N18MJ CL604 and 5N-FZE E135 were scrapes.
Just one LHR visitor today, HB-JBI A221 Swiss.

A couple of Saturday-only flights today, EC-MTD 319 Volotea Verona-Cork and TC-SOF 738 SunExpress XQ886 Antalya-Dublin.
Two LHR departures, the latest China Southern 789 B-20AA CZ304 and Gulf 500 A7-CGS, sister ship A7-CGP was above the clouds when it went overhead inbound STN but would only have been a scrape, seen at FAB as N511GD.

Further to the chat on here a week or so ago about the whereabouts of AAL B787 N835AN, it seems she is back in service for the first time since early June.
On June 5th she routed DFW-TUL but diverted into SAT where she then remained until July 12th when she positioned from SAT-DFW and then routed DFW-CDG the same day. She then flew the return leg after which she routed DFW-LAX yesterday.
I posted the original "what happened?" question over on the Civilian Aviation forum and received a reply yesterday which reckoned she suffered a lightning strike on June 5th, hence the divert into SAT

So, according to Ryanair, there is no longer a 737 Max200, just a 737 8200. That will reassure passengers!

I wonder how many passengers would even know what type of 737 they're about to board? Enthusiasts like us lot are would but someone say like my brother who goes on 3-4 holidays a year wouldn't know whether he was boarding a 737, an A320 or an Embraer and I doubt he would really worry about it to be honest. Or maybe the two fatal crashes will make more people ask what plane they are on?
