I wonder how many passengers would even know what type of 737 they're about to board? Enthusiasts like us lot are would but someone say like my brother who goes on 3-4 holidays a year wouldn't know whether he was boarding a 737, an A320 or an Embraer and I doubt he would really worry about it to be honest. Or maybe the two fatal crashes will make more people ask what plane they are on? Until they read the safety card.....oh hang on, who ever reads the safety card?!!!

A couple of pleasing gap-fillers today, D-AIXM my last Lufthansa 350 LH494 MUC-YYZ and N570UP my last UPS 744F 5X213 SDF-CGN (never saw the one which crashed, N571UP).
And made another of the elusive Aeroflot 738s, VP-BNP SU2570 on LHR 09 approach.

Just the one for me today:
ZZ417 B.350 Shadow R.1A RAF "Snake 47"
Missed the F-35s due to haze, unfortunately. Nevermind, will most certainly get a jet noise fix over the next few days!
One more this evening, most unexpected: ZF515 Tucano T.1 RAF "LOP05"

Cloud as well for me, Ollie.
Mine today was "AAC791" Apache ZJ207 which was operating in the Keevil area at lunchtime.
EDIT/UPDATE "LOP05" Tucano ZF515 has just (22.07) routed OTT heading towards Yeovilton.

OMissed the JAL 789 JA862J on the JA42 this morning, but still made two LHR departures, A6-EVG 380 Emirates EK32 and HZ-AK35 773 Saudia. Is this rare, or have I just been unlucky?
Cloud was too low for OTT, but high enough for me to make N891FD 777F FedEx inbound STN FX5102.

Shame I missed the Garuda yesterday, it is one of the two series 200s I still need. (Saw the others in Sydney.) I also picked up 3 in advance of RIAT, A400s 54+28, 54+05 and P8 169329. Also made 3 B787s, 4X-EDK and N12006 OTT and C-GURP on climbout from Gatwick. Eva is also taking note of our requests, and B16723 was a welcome Heathrow visitor tonight.
Unlikely to make any tomorrow, as it is my regular trip to St Georges to donate platelets and plasma, but roll on Friday and RIAT, even though the weather forecast is grim.

Morning fellas,
Well the fine weather we’ve all been sharing has come to a grinding halt, just in time for RIAT.... And, I suspect, today’s log will be a ‘dot ball’ to use a cricketing term.... However, we can live in hope....
July, for me, has been pretty good. Lots of my sightings have been listed by others so here are my numbers...
1st 9 Frames (F). 2nd 12 F & 12 Scrapes (S) 3rd 15 F & 10 S. 4th 8 F & 5 S. 5th 15 F & 6 S. 6th 10 F & 9 S. 7th 7 F & 1 S. 8th 3 F & 3 S. 9th 5 F & 2 S. 10th 2 F & 2 S. 11th 3 F & 4 S. 12th 8 F & 5 S. 13th 4 F & 2 S. 14th 1 F & 1 S. 15th 10 F & 4 S. 16th 16 F & 4 S. 17th 10 F & 4 F.
I’ll try to catch up (soon) with a daily log... Seriously looking forward to RIAT tomorrow, apart from the forecasted weather!!
Good luck fellas.

Not really into military, so avoided Fairford (in fact I have never been) by taking SWMBO on a short break to Le Tréport, Normandy. Wasn’t expecting to make anything, but as we were passing Berck airfield I took my eyes off the road for a few seconds, luckily with no adverse consequences, to log F-HJPL R-44 11.

Just the French C-135FR for me today, on its way inbound to Fairford.
My turn for the fun(?) tomorrow. Hopefully, they will have organised something special for a flypast, so the Sunday punters do not miss out.
Incidentally, looking forward to seeing a Turkish KC-135 tomorrow as I have not seen one before. However, I have seen 6 out of their 7 when they were USAF - and RIAT's 57-2609 is my missing one!!
