Lovely day up here in Cheshire (Sunday) Manchester still on 05, but LPL on 09 but nothing worth get excited about. Only a Vuelling A320N of note due MAN. But I will be more than likely watching the Blues at the Palace in the Cup. Great win for the Royals yesterday Dave- much needed just like our win against the Geordies on Thursday. Happy Days Bob

A bit of a mixed bag today, even though the skies were blue, they were also a bit milky and murky low down, this allowed the Ethiopian Dash 8 and the Flydubai MAX to slip by without even a glimpse, a good half dozen also managed to evade the binoculars, but I am very happy with the fifteen that were seen....

Wall sunshine up here in Cheshire all day- everything trailing, but sadly nothing apart from the below two to frighten the scorer. So it was lawn cutting and a bit of other garden TLC as well as BICR underlining (104 pages done), in between checking my computer for anything heading my way. 85-0003- C5M USAF eastbound ET-APU- 777F Ethiopian westbound There were a few other Mil aircraft which went through the zone, CAF C130, USN C40 and BAF A400 but none which was needed. Lovely morning again as I type this. Manchester on a RW 05 so most stuff can be see on approach, but looking at what's due- nothing needed. Anyway enough of my rant-have a nice spotting day everyone- and Dave C'mon you Royals. Happy Days Bob Hi Bob, as a Palace fan of 62 years, I was obviously happy with today’s result, but I do feel for your fans. With players’ obvious frustration, I cannot see any clear way out of your league dilemma. Phil

Thanks Phil cannot argue with the score, but after dominating the first twenty minutes when we needed a goal- the Townsend injury certainly helped Palace regroup- and once you got the first goal the writing was on the wall- but it was obviously helped when the officials missed the obvious handball by Zaha prior to the 2nd goal- and you had bags of luck with the last two- but we have problems and the next five games- West Ham (A) Burnley (A) Man U (H) LPL (A) and Chelsea (H) won't help the cause but you never know we may slip an upset up in a couple of those games. But we do have Palace, Brentford and Leicester at Home to come. Anyway good luck against Chelski at Wembley- I think they are one team out of the other three members of the scab 6 that you could beat. Scab 6= the teams who wanted to break away and start a Super League. Onwards and upwards now back to Planes. Happy Days Bob

Anyway back to Aviation- after the frustration of the match- it was a frustrating day day on the aircraft front as well- missed quite a few- mainly biz-jets who were helping global warming by not trailing- but still made the following three:- HZ-AK33- 777 Saudi Westbound D-AFYR- A330 Eurowings Discovery westbound S2-AJT- 787-8 Bangladesh inbound MAN Nice hazy day today Monday- already missed three due to haze and not trailing but fingers crossed- MCR have swopped runways again- and looks like LPL have done the same- but nothing of note due. So it will be back to my underlining over 200 pages done already- to my beloved's pleasure- as doing the latter on the dining room table- the latter that is the underling. LOL. Happy Days Bob

A good trip all round Graham- with some nice pictures as well- the Swiss Sr22 was in Blackpool yesterday. Reference today (Monday) the blue skies disappeared about 9am to be replaced by wall to wall cloud. So a nil return is looking possible today. Happy Days Bob

Any home spotting over the weekend was almost as frustrating as watching shot shy Villa on Saturday. I don't know why they bother with marking out a 'technical area', Stevie G must have been tempted to two foot Arteta back into his.

After a nil return on Monday- woke up to wall to wall blue skies albeit very hazy during which time I missed a few biz-jets due to no trails, but as the morning progressed and into the early afternoon the haze relented a bit and prior to going shopping with my beloved FIVE hit the books:- C-GOIH- A321N Air Transat westbound G-XWBJ- A350 BAW south to LAP TC-LOB- A330 Turkish eastbound G-WUKR- A321N Wizz (UK) southbound 9H-SMF- A330 Smart Lynx (Malta) westbound The underling of my LAAS BICR has continued and I have completed 402 pages -only 90 to do- that is my goal today- blue hazy skies again as I type this, but MCR on 05 may help. Another nice day Wednesday albeit hazy, so it was underlining my BICR and spotting until- it was out to B & Q to get some felt for my next task the shed roof, which took a bit of a battering when we had the storms last month. But all in all a good day spotting wise with the following SIX hitting the books:- 9H-XOA- C560XLS west to DUB EI-FPP- CRJ9 SAS inbound MAN D-AEUC- A321F LH (Cargo) west to DUB A6-EVQ- A380 Emirates westbound EI-HMS- 737-8M Ryanair west to DUB EI-HGN- 737-8M Ryanair southbound Happy to say my BICR underlining is now complete as are all my other books- so good to go for 2022. Today Thursday as with the last couple nice blue skies but still a bit hazy- and at 07:50 as I type this four in the book already including a USAF C17 ffs they are as rare as Rocking Horse S**t over my abode a C17 cop that is. Almost like the land of the plenty up here today. Make the most of the blue skies chaps- let's hope it continues. Happy Days Bob

Working from home yesterday as I have done pretty much for the last two years, but had time to nip outside when required and ended up with four frames and a scrape

I took the mutts out mid afternoon to Coate where the grass strip is. I've known Rupert Hibberd who keeps his three planes there for about 15 years, his brother owned the farmland on which the strip was built but he sold it and retired last year and whilst Rupert still keeps his planes in the barns, the new owner has made it blatantly clear with signs that the airstrip land is private and that there is no pathway available for walkers.
His signs read "ACTIVE AIRFIELD" but I doubt there's an average of one landing or take off per day. When Rupert is taking off he always taxis up over the hump halfway down the 600 yd strip to ensure that any walkers are aware of his presence and when he's approaching to land, he always does a circuit around the strip, again to make walkers aware that he intends landing.
The new landowner also owns a huge field on the other side of the byway that runs between the strip and Monument Hill, and he's put signs up there as well. As far as I was aware, as long as you kept to the sides of the field ( which were always planted to leave a five metre walkway all around)and didn't mess with the crop, then you had the right to walk around. Maybe the signs are there as a deterrent without any legal significance but having stopped to chat to a lady from Coate village who has walked her dogs along the strip for 20 years, she's already had two confrontations with the new owner and by all accounts, he's a nasty piece of work.
Such a shame.
