2nd June
A bit late, but this was the day when a very nice surprise came over the house.
The 1st cell of the USMC F/A-18s returning from Lask (Poland), together with their tankers, came down TR1 routing MAM (Marham) > BZN (Brize Norton) > VLN (Yeoviltom) > LND (Lamds End) en route to Lajes (Azores).
"GOLD31" 16-46018 KC-46A 133ARS/New Hanpshire ANG "GOLD32" 60-0315 KC-135R 126ARS/Wisconsin ANG
"MAZDA81-85" 164659/DR-211 F/A-18D VMFA-312 164884/WK-05 F/A-18D VMFA(AW)-224 164892/DR-207 F/A-18C VMFA-312 164897/DR-201 F/A-18C VMFA-312 165399/200 F/A-18C (VMFA-312)..........no unit marks.
Absolutely no chance for the 2nd cell the next day as (a) it was total clag and (b) they routed down the Severn (MAM > LND direct).

The middle F-18 there Bob 164892 was on deck in Gosport harbour back in March 2015, although I don't recall which carrier it was.

That was the Theodore Roosevelt, Graham.
However, it was not on deck on the day I went to see (25/03/2015) and must have been moved upstairs when you saw it (or downstairs when I visited).
EDIT:- 164892 went down into the hangar on 24th.

I had a work call in Southampton yesterday and was happy to see the last Eastern ATR I need going into the airport. Heading home, which takes me past Boscombe Down, a Wattisham based Apache was buzzing around that I needed and then made three from home.
The first of the South Korean C-130s came tantalisingly close to home as it did a circuit of Boscombe prior to landing but no chance of seeing it so it may well be a ride down later to hopefully see them all.
Today has started off dry and sunny after overnight rain so hoping to make a few.

Shall have to be very careful. I made another 4 today. That's 10 for the month so far. In addition to the Korean Hercs at Boscombe Down, I finally (LOL) caught up with the ultra slack GAF A310MRTT 10+25 as "GAFMED1" (their only one remaining).

Not a nice day overcast with lots of heavy showers- so it was shopping in the afternoon and visiting the outlaws, but during a ten minute rest bite in the rain, and when I was told to stay in the car by my beloved because she would have been quicker getting a few bits and pieces from Morrisons two hit the books:- JA873A- 787-9 ANA heading south to LHR not trailing D-ERDH- PA46 Malibu inbound LPL Then the rain came again and the brief bit of blue stuff disappeared. Thursday and it is wall to wall blue stuff as I type this with one already in the book, but rain like petrol increase is due later, but fingers crossed. Happy Days Bob

You certainly did have a good day Graham, they make up for the bad ones- that wall to wall blue skies I had up here at about 06:00 have now gone to be replaced by wall to wall cloud and a bit of aqua is now falling- so looks like I'll have to settle for three at the moment although a needed Turkish biz is due in at LPL this evening. I had a couple of business calls yesterday, one in Lambourn then a second in Salisbury. Lambourn isn't far from Membury but I didn't have sufficient time to call in so after the call in Salisbury, headed to Boscombe Down where thanks to Bill's directions, was able to see the three South Korean C-130s.
There was other stuff parked up and buzzing around but it's all common stuff over home so didn't make anything else.

Friday was not a bad day really weather wise, albeit it a bit windy which blew the clouds in and out quite quick, but despite the weather I only made one that being in LPL and also domestic chores did get in the way of spotting:- N203CK- G450 Also missed the elusive JAL 787 JA861J for about the fifth time due to a massive cloud getting in the way as it passed over my gaff Saturday and its windy again with the odd bit of blue, but fingers crossed. Saturday started off nice and blue and the following three hit the books:- D-AIYC- A330 Condor eastbound OO-PCK- PC12 westbound G-CMEI- ATR 72 Eastern westbound to BFS In the afternoon- I dropped my beloved off for a get together with some friends and I headed off to check out a few local airfields namely Ashcroft Farm, Ashcroft House and Worleston- sadly all were closed- and I had e-mailed the owner of Ashcroft Farm earlier to ask for a look around- it was only when I got home that I found his reply and he was in France- but I have arranged to have a visit when he gets back. All was not lost though- I drove to Crewe a few miles from Worleston where I found the stored Rans Coyote G-MWYE which is in the front garden of the owners home the wings of which are at Worleston. Together with a unidentified Mainair. Then it was home to wait for the pickup call from my beloved. Sunday and it is currently overcast and windy just like yesterday. But it is supposed to improve later on. Happy Days Bob

Not a very busy day over Aldershot despite good weather. Just three noted, the best of which was DH90 G-AEDU with an unknown pseudo-military chippy in tow; Ce172 *G-JKPF seen previously as G-CEWK; Ce680 *CS-LTN. As Meat Loaf sang in one of his 1970s hits 'Two out of three ain't bad'.
