I might have told you this Dave, but decades ago when I lived in Polperro, I played both pool and darts for the Blue Peter pub in the village. We played in the Looe and District leagues for both and it's a measure of how crap the teams were that I was in both of them.
One of the darts teams was The Globe pub from Looe, they had 4 or 5 county players in their team and were pretty much unbeatable, having won the darts league for the previous 6 or 7 years.
We were hosting them at home on a cold, blustery winter's evening, the log fire which was to one side of the board about four feet from the oche was blazing away. If I recall, I was playing fifth leg, we were 4-0 down so my leg would determine whether we were in with a hope or not.
We used the pub's "20p in the Guide Dog tin" darts, cheap, plastic flights, that were well chewed up and totally useless really. I was on first, threw the first dart, went in the 5, second dart went in the 1, my oppo very kindly says, " try these mate" and hands over one of his tungsten darts which had just become all the rage for serious players.
Thanking him, I aimed and threw, only for the dart to bounce off the wire and land straight in the fire. "F**K ME MATE, THEY'RE £30 A SET!!!", he yells so the only thing I could really say was, "well, you'd better put your hand in and pull it out then"
The following morning the Blue Peter's landlord Terry riddled out the fire, found what was left of the dart, and as he was going to Looe to do some shopping, put the dart into an envelope with a note that apparently read, " happy to return your player's dart" and popped it through the Globe's letterbox.

Nothing exceptional among the 18 made yesterday, except for 3 Belgian 737Max all heading SW in rapid succession, OO-TMA, TMB, MAX. Couldn’t see my final Polish C130 which escaped me on its way to Brize.
Looking on asd-b it seemed that the ex Tiger B737 did a hop from St Athan to Lasham? Not needed as seen in Sydney.

A banging day at home yesterday, virtually cloudless all day meaning I ended up with a great haul. The Typhoon was buzzing around all afternoon, according to PlaneBase she's based at Warton. The Tigerair B737 left Lasham and headed across to CWL as part of her airtest I believe.

Another very warm, cloudless day, had a quick work call in the morning but was back by 10am. Had to drive through Avebury which was brimming with the great unwashed and plenty of coppers overseeing events. One of Caroline's work colleagues lives in the village and woke yesterday morning to find that a visitor had parked an old rustbucket van right across his driveway which meant he couldn't get out. In the end the police called a breakdown truck that winched it out of the way, after which the police impounded the van as the entire village was classed as a "no parking-tow away zone" for the duration of the Solstice, as it is every year.

Another sunny, blue skies and very warm day at home but not that much around of interest. The Westjet was seen still trailing way out to my southwest as she came in for LGW arrival. After tea, we sat down to watch TV and all was peaceful until just before 9pm when an RAF A400 went right over the house at 2500ft and made us and the dogs all jump. They are a very common sight here but usually you hear the whine of the props before you see them so it certainly took us all by surprise.

Well the predicted thunderstorms failed to happen and the weather actually brightening up during the afternoon to allow another three pots to the previously mentioned Falcon 7X.
N990HA Dassult Falcon 7X (inbound Farnborough) OY-MIT Canadair RJ900 Copenhagen Air Taxi (BFS-CND) G-WUKS A321NEO Wizz Air (LTN-TFS) G-WUKR A321NEO Wizz Air (LTN-TLV)
It's wall to wall cloud again this morning so we will wait & see what happens,at least we won @ darts last night 8-1 so the 100% start to the season continues.

As Dave mentions, the predicted thunder and rain never materialised although it was very variable weather all day, so ended up with just two frames and a scrape
