Great to see folks taking full advantage of the great weather a few days back. I was otherwise occupied while the sun shone and now the skies are grey again, hence the miserly log update.

Wednesday was another overcast day with plenty of aqua so it was a stay at home day -well I had too as my beloved developed a sore throat on Monday and tested Tuesday to show she had the dreaded Covid. So it was separate bedrooms and completely avoiding one another in the house. You couldn't write it could you especially avoiding the virus for over two years- she thinks it occurred when she went to see Peter Kay last Friday. Because of her reduced immunity since her treatment she had to contact the NHS and we had a home visit yesterday afternoon, where she had an infusion which stops the virus developing any further. This morning her sore throat has almost disappeared. So fingers crossed she is on the mend. Well impressed with the NHS the way they have responded to her. First Class. Unlike Jan I have tested all week which have been negative. Well enough of our trials and tribulations a small patch of blue did appear in the late afternoon where I managed to see:- OE-LFC- 747-8 Air Belgium heading south Thursday the same as it has been all week- but at least it is not raining. Happy Days Bob

Thankfully she seems to be already on the mend, even though it might have been a scarier situation a couple of years back, I'm sure it is still a concern given the underlying health issues. We get rid of the NHS at our peril. Best wishes to both of you.

Thanks Deke- she is a lot better- tested myself again today which I will do until she tests negative and my test was neg again. But the two Nurses who came yesterday were fantastic- and I said to them "Whatever your getting for pay- you are not getting enough" and they laughed- it is a pity that the government don't recognise that- it was alright when they worked right through the peak of the pandemic which has not gone away- but they seem to have forgotten them- as well as other workers who did likewise. Rant over. Happy Days Bob

Sending best wishes to Jan Bob. Caroline had covid last Christmas, tested positive on Dec 24th, and continued to do so till Jan 4th, I tested every day for those ten days and remained negative. We still spent our time together and kipped together, no rhyme or reason to covid at all.

I tested but never came back positive, which is bizarre as we shared the same bed throughout… Anyway, wish your wife well mate. Bet she’ll be back on her feet in no time at all and venturing out to the nearest Air Show. Bill

Thanks Bill, Graham- we made the decision to avoid each other as much as possible till she fully recovered so I am in our bed and she has the blow up bed in the spare room- not bad really as I have had three nights great sleep, and have not been woken up by the snoring. We also have separate meals and she stays in the living room and I am in my den all day. Tested negative again this morning (Friday). Anyway back to aviation- Thursday it was overcast in the morning, but after I had been for my blood test for my well mans check up the blue skies returned and in between cutting the grass the following hit the books:- G-SWSD- PC24 southbound JA837A- 787-9 ANA south to LHR A6-XWC- A350 Etihad westbound Friday is much the same this morning as Thursday morning overcast but not raining- a few are due into LPL today so keeping a look out for them. Caroline and I have a few days off so decided to venture to Bath yesterday. It's only 17 miles or so but parking is hard to find and expensive if you can find that elusive spot so we drove to Chippenham, parked the car for a couple of quid all day, and took the eleven minute train ride from there to Bath for the princely sum of six quid return each.
No spotting done until we got back home at 5pm, where I immediately placed the wallet in the fridge to cool it down.

With all the rumours about stuff imminently due to arrive at Mildenhall and Lakenheath I decided to run up there on Friday, 26th, to chance my hand. So here’s what happened.
26th.
Mildenhall. 17-46025 KC-46 USAF (departed 09.06) 18-46044 KC-46 USAF (departed 09.35) 17-46028 KC-46 USAF OE-LNO B757F DHL (OTT 09.21) 19-5493 F-35 Lightning 2 USAF (ex Lakenheath)
Sadly a fourth KC-46 departed 30 minutes prior to arrival.
Lakenheath. 91-0303 F-15 USAF 97-0218 F-15 USAF 91-0334 F-15 USAF C-GVTA Alpha Jet Top Aces 97-26774/AV HH-60 Pave Hawk USAF 89-26205/AV HH-60 Pave Hawk USAF 92-26471/AV HH-60 Pave Hawk USAF
There were 4 F-35’s, 12 F-15’s and 6 F-16’s all flying… I have a list of them all but those above were my pots.
There was another Top Aces Alpha Jet (which I also needed) but sadly it went tech before my arrival. There was also another load of AV F-16’s but these stayed out of sight - I needed two….
On the way home I stopped at Stansted as there were a few on the deck that I needed.
Stansted. TC-RBB A321NX Pegasus N368UP B767-3F UPS M-KGKG Praetor 600 N998NB Gulf 550 TC-RSF CL605
On the drive home, passing Denham, two Robinson’s we’re doing circuits. G-KUBE R44 G-HERZ R44
So not too bad, the rumoured Qatari F-15’s sadly did not arrive… Maybe next week.
Cheers.

Friday was grandchildren day, and a trip to the Science Museum. So long since I had been there, that I made 5 frames.
Saturday was my friend’s 70th birthday party, and as he lives under the final approach to Biggin Hill, it would have been rude not to sit in his garden and look up occasionally. I needed: SX-KKA Legacy VP-BCL CRJ F-HICU Hawker G-VUYK E550 EJ-GABJ Hawker OE-FNV C510
Then at home JA837A out of LHR, my 782nd B787 and N29FR Global OTT
So far today 57-1479 KC135 on a RCH flight OTT and much local interest as G-LNDN circled several times then landed in the park right next to our house.
