Frustrating day Monday- with low cloud early on which made seeing anything landing on 05 at Manchester difficult, but in the late afternoon it got a bit better and the following four hit the books:- CS-TJQ- A321N TAP inbound MAN LZ-LAH- A320 European Air Charter as above LN-ENP- 737-8 NAS as above LN-NIM- 737-8 NAS as above Nice start to Tuesday with blue skies but with a fair bit of wispy but one already in the book so cannot complain- apart from the bride still testing positive. Almost Happy Days Bob

Bob,my wife & daughter both tell me that 7-10 days is par for the course for Covid at the moment so Jan should be clear soon.
Family get together yesterday which kept spotting to a minimum, only one logged.

Four frames and a scrape yesterday. Got off to a good start with a pair of KC135's trailing to my south, one of which was needed. The HA Citation looked like a good pot until I realised I had seen it previously as 9H-PLM nearly five years ago.
Looking forward to Popham on Saturday and hopefully meeting a few of you boys, but the weather forecast isn't great, which is about par for the course for Popham.

Today it is showers from 15:00 usually the time I'm starting off for home base. So fingers crossed. Happy Days Bob

Hi folks I'm at Bournemouth on Thursday which looks like being the last of the guaranteed good days down south. I'm keeping my options open for Popham as I understand we can pay on the gate. I'd prefer to go on the Saturday as it would be nice to catch up but I'm mindful of how weather in other parts of the country can affect numbers. Cheers. Keith

The last day of August and after a cloudy start a half decent day was add mainly due to Manchester still on 05 landings and a few needed and anyway this is what was added to the log:- B-LXH- A350 Cathay inbound MAN OM-NEX- 737-8 Air Explore inbound MAN ops for Sun Express TC-FHP- A320 Freebird inbound MAN OH-LZE- A321 Finnair inbound MAN B-207J- 787-9 Hainan inbound MAN 85-0005- C5M USAF eastbound TC-JRM- A321 Turkish inbound MAN TC-NBA- A320N Pegasus inbound MAN F-HZUG- A220 Air France inbound MAN D-IBEA- C525-CJ2 inbound MAN CT-05- A400M Belgium Air Force southbound N368UP- 767F UPS inbound EMA So that 12 gave me a total of 198 for the month and a yearly total of 1290 which is 689 up on last year's total up to August of 601 and zooming past 2021 total year of 1045. Plus only one nil cops day which was the years best. Today the 1st of September is wall to wall blue stuff but it looks like Manchester have changed runways- but from the what's due list nothing was due anyway to frighten the scorer. Oh wait still in 05 and one over the top for me so up and running for September. Happy Days Bob

A bizjet day yesterday, four frames, it's been a good month I think but haven't done the sums yet. The first day of Autumn sees things cool and cloudy so not overly hopeful of making much today unless the weather improves

Wednesday looked like it would be a frustrating day, as 2 C17s and a Canadian C130 were masked by clouds, but then 2 Junos started the recovery, both over the Thames.

and the clouds rolled back enabling A400 to be potted, even without a trail at FL300

Just did the sums and it was a good month
FRAMES SCRAPES BIZJETS 54 18 BIZPROPS 4 0 JETS 33 13 PROPS 4 1 MIL 3 0 GA 90 3 HELIS 7 0
The good total for GA was partly due to being in Bristol for work during one of the Balloon Fiesta launches and although I didn't attend the event, I did manage to see a load as they ascended
