I saw the bear too David I think he's moonlighting for either Lidl or Aldi
Terry's already set up a Joke in the 'keep it reasonably clean please' area at the bottom, Buster is yet to find it at score it. For Terry it's mild so I hope Busters not too cruel.
Regards
John

Folkyphil here...signed-up on day 1, but have only just got round to adding a few notes about myself. Spotter from the very early '60s, when Lasham inbounds were mainly Ambassadors, DC4s or Argonauts, Odiham had Sycamores and Farnborough's traffic was responsible for many a telling-off by my schoolteachers as I peered out of the classroom window rather than concentrating on classwork! Did 33 years in ATC, mainly as an ATCA, at Heathrow, Glasgow and LATCC, with a lot of interesting stories (mainly unprintable) to tell. Took early retirement in 2002, and, whilst no longer a writer-down of registrations, I spend most of my time with an eye to the sky to keep abreast of happenings, not least "Malcolm"'s positioning of Lasham inbounds over my house near Farnham.
Good luck to all on this "new" forum. So many names from the old one...it's "just like home" once more. P.H.

Hi, I'm Mike Phipp and have been around the Bournemouth area for many, many years. Bournemouth movements are already well covered, so mainly use site to see what is going on elsewhere. Also into aviation research & history, resulting in producing a number of local aviation books over the years.

Evening All,
I'm Steve, I live on the South Coast but up until a 10 years ago lived close by to Blackbushe. Stumbled upon Peter's posts "elsewhere" and thoroughly enjoyed re living the days when myself and my Dad would wander up to Blackbushe for a look. While wouldn't class myself as a spotter, I do have a passing interest and will have to see if I can dig out some old photos, including some of the Concorde fly past taken from Darby Green and some from when I was on work experience at Carroll Aviation in 1994.

Hi to All Another escapee from the "old" board. Ex Gatwick, LATCC and finally ( for the last 20 years) a Supervisor within Eurocontrol/CFMU/IFPS in Paris. Now retired. Got my PPL at Blackbushe in 1974. (Youngest son got his there with Cabair in 2008 and is now a F/O with B M Regional) work part-time at Brooklands Museum in their Archives. Should be enough people on the Forum to have a get - together at the Caff!

Welcome to you both Andy & Nigel, great to have you with us. Have a look around ( sounds like you already have)as things are laid out differently here but it's less cluttered and in a more ,logical sequence. Glad you like the grass cutter at Bodmin, no forum is complete without it!
Regarding a possible meet up "in the caff" I will be adding a sub forum today where members can post, if they want to, where they might be on any particular day and therefore, others can join them for a cuppa and a bacon sarnie if it takes their fancy. I missed Peter Brown & Stuart at Blackbushe earlier this week and am still kicking myself.

Hi all
Another escapee, I'm afraid.
Thanks to Graham for keeping up the good work. These forums are a lifeline for oldies like me to keep up with the aviation world. Lasham is my nearest airfield, closely followed by Blackbushe so obviously I'm interested in what goes on there. Any chance of a similar forum to Peter Brown's very absorbing thread on Blackbushe?
Will post when I can, mostly due to a lack of opportunity!
Best wishes for a successful forum.
Mike

All I can say is what a fantastic job you have all done to get this up and running so quickly. For what it's worth, I like the 'open' look of the pages, nice and bright, and, dare I say it? Welcoming!
Thanks again.

Worse things have happened at sea, or so we're told.... Just FYI, there will soon be a new Blackbushe forum devoted just to Blackbushe. It will be my baby with the free and friendly atmosphere we all enjoy here, the idea being to cover all things Blackbushe from 1942 to who knows when in the future. My waffle will return on a daily basis with the occasional photo to make it tolerable. It won't be a huge forum with its more limited application than "AFA", but hopefully you'll feel equally welcome. This forum and the new Blackbushe one will work in mutual harmony, certainly not in competition with each other and no crass rules and regs either... Please go into the holding pattern, we should be open for business in the next day, or so... PB

No this is the one started by a Robert Belcher the day after the other Forum imploded, hopefully Robs and Peters Blackbushe forums can work in harmony . Rob posted some good historical wartime stuff about Hartford Bridge on the old forum and is an all round good guy. I believe he also had a run in with "Adolf" !!! many years ago and went out on his own with a Farnborough movements mailing list

Evening all.. Just to confirm my planned Forum has NOT been rolled out as yet. I guess time has not been totally on my side and I note some of my photos are appearing elsewhere.. hopefully the Blackbushe forum I have in mind will perform a number of functions. It will pick-up on Photo of the Day that proved of interest to quite a few in the now dead "Blackbushe Pics from the Past", killed off recently as we know. My aim is for the forum to be a kind of bubble in which all facets of the Blackbushe operation will be catered for. I know a bubble can burst, and that's a chance I'm willing to take, but hopefully it will become something of a reference point for our much loved old airfield. I applaud Rob for starting his forum so speedily and hope that we can find room enough for two!!
The new forum will be driven by myself and Flyboy, (Stuart), between us there lie two lifetimes spent focused on Blackbushe. With the help and support of our old friends from the previous Blackbushe thread and association with "AFA", we will soon have a daily following of our recollections, experiences - and hopes - for London's rather quieter than it used to be second airport.
Please stay tuned, meanwhile enjoy all the Forums you can!!
PB

As if it wasn't bad enough, Tony appears to have deleted all but 3 of the threads from his Blackbushe forum, so a lot of other people have 'lost' material. Why he's kept 2 that I started I don't know!!

Hi all, Mark from Bournemouth just saying hi and well done to Graham and Jeff for getting this up and running so quickly and so well. Joined at the beginning thanks to a heads up from P.V and Yorkie. I was, however, led to believe this was going to be a class operation but I see that Whitebear has been allowed to join so that has now gone out the window! ;o) (sorry mate,I had to say something!) Look forward to contributing where I can and also hope to resurrect the JETS Hangar tours again at some point in the near future so watch the Bournemouth section for further news of that. All the best everyone
