Just one on Saturday A7-ALL A350 on LHR departure and blank yesterday, and was expecting another blank today but cleared briefly after dark and made 2 in 2 minutes, M-PIRE Avanti out of Exeter and M-MVAP GLEX out of FAB! More cloud forecast for the next few days.

During rare moments of clear skies, got 2 good Heathrow arrivals, Gulf Air A320 A9C-AO and Air Astana B767 P4-KEA.

For various reasons I do most of my spotting from home, and as I can see some LHR 09 arrivals and 27 departures I am reasonably up to date with most of the visiting fleets. Therefore I rely on new deliveries and unusual visitors.
One out of two today. Made Air Algerie's latest 738 7T-VKP, but missed the Air Astana 767 P4-KEA (they usually use 757s), was watching for it to taxy on FR24 but it was over an hour late, took off while I was cooking the dinner! Annoying, my last one, I have KEB/C. One bonus, at last I caught up with EI-FRY 738 Ryanair inbound STN.

Sorry I couldn't join Graham and his colleagues for the tour of outer London fields, although I visit them from time to time I do not get hangar access and would have made many hidden away in the nooks and crannies!
Frustrating day with lingering cloud cover, but cleared after dark and made HL8045 latest Korean 777F on LHR departure and G-FBKH C.510 overhead heading SE.

Just three military things came into my range of vision today and I made a very slack first one (OTT at 09.20) which has been eluding me for quite a few years.
"NAF11" V-11 [480C1A] trailing nicely at FL450 routing GAPLI (50N08W) > CPT > REDFA. It was doing the long haul from Curaçao back home to Holland.
The other two items (not required) were A.400M demonstrator EC-406 out of Brize Norton and going home (OTT 10.31). The other was West Virginia ANG C-17A 94-0069 routing MAM > GITUS with a big trail (OTT Bristol about 14.30).
Possibly some sunny intervals tomorrow afternoon, so fingers crossed.
Cheers,
Bob

Out most of the day, annoying as there was blue sky and lots of trails. Made one airliner, OH-LWD A350 inbound LHR (now have all up to LWG). But a spate of bizjets inbound LTN/STN later, made M-GSKY GLEX, G-RSXP C560XLS, HB-JSU F900DX and D-CHIP C525B+.

Lovely sunny start to the day again which has enabled the following to be logged (now wall to wall cloud)
9H-VCI Global Express 6000 (outbound Farnborough) PH-EXI E170 KLM Cityhopper (AMS-BRS) G-FLXS Falcon 2000EX ES-ELI Citation X (outbound Farnborough)
Should be it for the day I think as I'm off out shortly to the Mad Stad to watch the Royals play Bristol City, hopeing for our 5th win on the bounce.
Have a good weekend all.

Clear, then cloudy, then clear again. Made 5 in the clear bits, TC-JYM 738 heading for DUB, G-VYGJ A330 out of BZZ, HZ-AK36 newish 773 inbound LHR, N988ZJ heading SE at FL450 and G-HPIN Bell 429 went overhead at low level.
Missed a few in the cloudy bits including EI-FRW one of my last 4 Ryanairs heading for EDI,9H-VCO BD.350 inbound NHT and VP-BUV 763 of Azul routing (I think) LED-PUJ, would have been a scrape, seen with Air France.

Lovely day and I made a C-17 and dropped another today - and that was the sum total of what was available for me to see before it clouded over late this afternoon.
First off, and didn't need, "RCH317" 89-1192 [AE07D0] at FL340 routed NAVPI > MAM (at 13.25) > OTT Bristol (at around 13.45) > EXMOR > HPT > LESLU
Then "RCH445" 06-6159 [AE145D] at FL330 routed Llanelli (at 14.25) > MAM (at 14.56) > NAVPI. This was my last FY06 C-17 (and my last but one Travis based one).
The amazing thing about this latter one was that the sky was so crystal clear today. From an upstairs window, I could first spot the trail just past Llanelli - about 80 miles away!! Admittedly it was rather low down, but that is a first. I followed it for some time in order to positively ID the type, despite it being the only aircraft on that routing all day.
Cloudy tomorrow morning for me and sunny intervals in the afternoon. Fingers crossed.
Cheers,
Bob.

The morning's C-17 offerings (only Eastbound DIKAS > MAM, no Westbounds) were rubbish. Dropped all three within the space of 2 hours ("RCH560" 03-3115, "RCH625" 09-9209 and "RCH599" 98-0052). I didn't even need the Westbound one after dark ("RCH739" 02-1101) - not that I could see it anyway.
Just after lunch, a Tornado ("JACKE22" ZG779), beautifully lit by the sun, decided to brighten up my day and enter the book. Then just before 1600, "SHF498" Chinook HC.6 ZK557 lifted off from Keevil, passed to the East Of Melksham and routed towards Oxford - making two for the day.
Lovely day tomorrow, they say, so fingers crossed again.
Cheers,
Bob
PS:- GlobalBob, I need that C-37 and the C-20 too. Not pleased they routed up North. Did you see the C-12?

What a difference a day makes! Another beautiful clear day with trails, but nothing of interest up there. Just one made so far, I-BCOM Avanti inbound NHT.
(much later) Picked up a bit, with D-AEWP A320 on LHR approach, VN-A870 789 on LHR departure and high level biz N776AM Gulf 4 and SX-GJJ Gulf 550. Also nice to see a "short" 727 in the air, VP-BPZ routing from Amman towards Shannon, but only a scrape, seen as N529AC. And a "long 727, M-STAR heading W, also a scrape, seen as N721MF.

Been up in Brum for a work meeting for most of the day Dave and saw D-CAAM there along with a few other decent pots, mainly OTT's.
F-HRPN SR22 OTT HB-FRW PC12 OTT G-CWCD BE20 OTT XA-OEM GLF5 OTT A7-BCG B787 TC-FHC B737 OTT EZ-A016 B737 EC-KDG A320 OTT D-CAAM D328 A6-EYR A330 OTT
Add those to the 16 I made at Staverton on the way up, and that makes a very satisfying day.

Lovely day and four hit the books.
First off - and all is forgiven for yesterday, GlobalBob - "SPAR70" C-37A 99-0402 [AE0406] trekked West along UL9 for a transatlantic crossing. At last!!
Second, my last military Voyager "RRR9301" ZZ343 [43C700] came over en route to VLN to pick up (not seen) "RRR9711" Tornado ZD739 [43C1BF] - which had come out of Lossiemouth - and take it to Akrotiri for an Op Shader change-over. Apparently there should have been a second Tornado, but it went "tech" at Marham and didn't make it to the runway.
Third, the Westbound "RCH326" C-17A 09-9206 [AE49C2] hit the books and is my last FY09 one. And this was all by 11.00 this morning.
Finally, Westbound C-17A "RCH744" 07-7174 [AE146C] completed the tally for the day, courtesy of the setting sun glinting off it to show my binoculars where it was.
Additionally (a "technical pot" as I don't collect civil but I haven't seen it before), the all white Beech 350 G-LBSB came over going up TR1 on a training flight back to the newly re-opened RAF Waddington (runway work finally completed).
Other interesting ones today not needed comprised Canadian CC-177 177701, C-17As Eastbound 08-8203 and Westbound 04-4136, CV-22B 08-0050, plus two Tornados ZA370 and ZA372 and a very low level Chinook this evening (think it was ZK557).
All in all a busy day for me. Let's hope the mist clears quickly tomorrow!!
Cheers,
Bob
