White Rabbits and all that stuff- November started as predicted overcast and starting to get cold- which it was at work- but since getting home just after 13:30 started to clear up- albeit due to having my shower missed needed BA 787 G-ZBKK heading west to SJC- anyway November has just got off the mark with two in a minute timed 15:25 in the form of:- 165151- C20G heading north nice trail C/s Catbird1 PH-EZW- E190 KLM Cityhopper out of DUB inbound AMS nice trail. The wind has changed again and they are back on 05 at Manchester albeit nothing due in is needed apart from the TAP E190 which is due just after 17:00. Nice day is predicted tomorrow- 10 in the book for this week already 4 for November- getting dark now- slippers on and keep myself wrapped up in front of the fire As Graham says soon be Xmas 53 shopping days (includes Sunday) whoo hoo!!!!!! Happy Days Bob

Had to drive to Bristol for a couple of calls but a big zero today to get the month going. Clag, fog and cloud all day. But as Bob says, forecast for tomorrow is looking good albeit a bit chilly. Waiting for a work phone call, it might be another trip to Birmingham tomorrow and if so, the chance to make a few there.

Whilst checking my radar log for today I saw this in the listings, how genuine it is I 'm not sure, but maybe someone can shed more light on the subject..

Not many IL62's around these parts nowadays.

Yes, I saw this too on FR24, went into Doncaster/Sheffield. Was formerly UK-86576 with Uzbekhistan.
Cloudy all day, but managed to break my duck for the month with SP-LIN E175 on LHR 09 approach, strobes only of course so blue on the spreadsheet.

And I am off the mark for the month with the only "RCH" flight to come my way.
"RCH968" C-5M 85-0007 [AE0564] departed Mildenhall and routed down over BZN (at 15.56), then to EXMOR and HPT (Hartland Point). It was just starting to trail (passing through FL300) as it came into view and left a very long one across the sky - with a lovely fat shape on the front of it.

Beautiful day here too with good trails, but only made 3, OH-LWG A350 departing LHR, and heading west were EI-FTD 738 (Bristol based) and PH-EXJ E175.
Annoyed about the Belarus IL-62, passed just west of here and should have been visible, would have been a frame, but at the time I was on the computer updating my bizjet spreadsheet from Aviation Letter 599!

Hi Jerry, The IL-62 was only a scrape for me but it looked lovely and had a really long trail behind it. I was tracking it for a couple of hours and stopped as it was passing West of Corsica... Its very frustrating when you miss something like that, especially as there are many of them in our parts nowadays... Bill

Bit of a grim day- for the last working day of the week-rained most of the morning and most of this afternoon but with the odd bit of blue- saw two Hawks on the ILS at Speke after work ZK022 & ZK028 neither of which were needed- but just as the daylight started to go latest Ryanair EI-FTG seen on the DUB-LGW rotation so at least a bit of a result. Also missed inbound LPL this morning mainly due to my tea break was Wideroe DH8-4 LN-WDH bringing Norwegian LFC supporters for Sundays game v Watford. Anyway it is now dark- and beer 'o'clock is here. Have a great weekend everyone. Living the Dream Bob

Bob Sorry to hear you had a rainy day. I have been staining the garden furniture with blue skies above. So couldn't resist not spotting. Plenty of trails. Good luck with blue v blue match tomorrow. Les

Bob Sorry to hear you had a rainy day. I have been staining the garden furniture with blue skies above. So couldn't resist not spotting. Plenty of trails. Good luck with blue v blue match tomorrow. Les Les, You cannot beat a bit of staining furniture with blue skies above- but at least I got one of my needed Ryanairs- now the dark nights and almost dark mornings are upon us- I shut down my computer unless something is going into Speke or Manchester and I can actually see the thing -otherwise in front of the tele with a beer. Tmoz and Sunday and Monday are looking good up here- so hopefully an early start before shopping may prove fruitful- if not a good year has been had by me so cannot complain. Reference our game tomorrow Chelski are flying at the moment so not expecting too much- but have put a draw on my predictions comp in work so fingers crossed. I have finalised my spotting for 2017 but no Popham for me as will be sunning myself in Lanzagrotte. First proper event will be Aero-Expo at Booker when we are visiting our friends in Southampton and I will be on a two day spotting bender whilst the wife goes out shopping with our friends. Anyway back to the TV a can of Budweiser is shouting me to come and get it. Living the Dream. Bob Hope you and Sue are keeping well.

Bob Sue and I are OK. I have finished checking our Kent trip logs. I needed about 225 of the 1700 ( including OTT ) logged. Staying in a caravan by the River Thames saved parking costs at Heathrow, Gatwick, London City and Southend was just across the Thames ( to Southend was 50 miles by road ). We will return to this area in Kent hopefully in March / April. Les

Les Les- A real good total for your trip- and a few airfields visited- that is one downside of this hobby the more aircraft you see the less you cop eventually- getting back to yesterday I did not need the Wideroe DH8-4 after all saw it at LPL last year. So hopefully a needed one will return to take our Norwegian red chums back to Trondheim on Sunday. Nice morning up here in Cheshire (Saturday) first coffee of the day being consumed and hopefully something may hit the books before we do big shop at Dinner time. Enjoy the Hobby Bob

After a lovely first bit of the morning, the clouds have rolled in readying for the afternoon forecast rain.
The only drawback was that two KC-10s went over me just after 09.00 (6 minutes apart) going up TR1 for inbound Mildenhall and I didn't need either. To add insult to injury, an hour later a third one (!!!!) for Mildenhall routed in over STU and came well past the Severn before turning NE and I didn't need that one either.
Still, tomorrow is (currently) forecast sunny all day, so keeping my fingers crossed that they route down South and not up the East Coast.
Cheers,
Bob

Nice sunny morning to start off with before the forecast cloud moved in,but did enable two to enter the log book, one scrape and one frame:
TF-LUV A330 WOW Air (KEF-CDG) EI-FTG B737 Ryanair (LGW-DUB)

Managed to make 4 frames before it clouded over, PH-BHG 789 heading for Rio, TC-JVN 738 out of BHX, EI-FTC 738 routing DUB-BRU and PH-EXG E175 heading for BRS. Not looking hopeful for the new Aeromexico, now estimating LHR at 15.28.

Started the morning off with clear blue skies but no trails, which made things a bit more tricky, and now someone has painted the sky grey, so not looking hopeful for the rest of the day. Still managed six for the log though... D-AEWJ A320 EWG4528 EDDH-GCLP F-GZNT B773 AFR083 KSFO-LFPG N2FD CL60 EGLF- I-GEFD F2TH SIO741 EGLF- TC-JOJ A333 THY8 KIAD-LTBA TC-LJB B773 THY32 KATL-LTBA That someone returned later on to poke some holes in the clouds to allow two more to enter the books, and then promptly repainted it all grey again, and turned off the light... N791AV B788 AVA120 SKBO-EGLL XA-ADL B789 AMX7 MMMX-EGLL Now lets see if someone manages to find some blue to paint the sky for tomorrow...

Just seen Phenom 9H-FGV going into Biggin Hill, and C560 9H-VMK on climb out from Biggin. Back in 1971 there were just 3 aircraft on the Maltese civil register, and all 3 were seen on the apron at Luqa on the same day. how times change!
