Nothing yet today, but yesterday was pleased to make my last RAF Puma, ZJ956. It's the only one I've made as an overflight - hopefully I'll see it "properly" at some point soon!

I too saw that Il62 on radar as it passed northbound over Derby way, I did shift my arse outside only to find the one bank of cloud in the sky had it neatly obscured, oh well. Still, another Il62 had been right over my house southbound earlier, my catch of the day:
EW-450TR Ilyushin IL-62MGr Rada Airlines
Also seen, though not needed, was G-OSRB, the oil spill response B727. A 727 is such a rare thing in the UK skies now.
Other than that, a medium haul from good weather and home working again.

CP-3082 ex OO-DJS Great, thanks Dave, quality info, I knew someone here would come up trumps! Presumably on test flight, any idea which carrier it's going to? Now, wonder if you can help with another query. Around midday today a small military (more likely ex military) jet flew low over my roof, too quickly to see anything meaningful, but it resembles a Macchi or Jet Provost profile, stubby wings with tanks on the end. I'm in South Staffs and it was heading in a Southbound direction, nothing I could see on radar.

Hi Deke. May be for Ecojet but not sure yet. You've got me on your tip tank machine, perhaps someone closer than Hampshire might know.

Hi Deke. May be for Ecojet but not sure yet. You've got me on your tip tank machine, perhaps someone closer than Hampshire might know. Thanks Dave, it certainly took me by surprise! Very low, and was through the available viewing space right overhead in three seconds tops, for some reason my initial reaction was Macchi but I'm clearly no expert.

A nice weekend in prospect there Bob. As a Villa fan the season couldn't end quickly enough, again! Going to be spending much of the weekend relieving my sister in caring for my mother so opportunities will be limited but with the weather forecast even more so.
As a night owl, it was an interesting period between midnight and 2. Saw these in these locale:
N290UP MD-11F UPS A6-EFK B777 Emirates SkyCargo N2333U B777 United Airlines N803XA B737 Wells Fargo Bank - For Saudi Aramco N802XA B737 Wells Fargo Bank - For Saudi Aramco
The last two went in to Stansted from Bangor ex Seattle so assume on delivery to Saudi Arabia. Lucky spots as doubtful they will grace our skies again.

Sounds like you've got everything well in perspective Bob, good for you. The Blues being Everton? I always enjoyed going to Goodison, proper football people, and who can forget those 3 final games in '77 and that goal from Chris Nichol! Likewise I long since stopped going to away games but have been a season ticket holder since '74 so I've seen the highest of highs, yesterday it was 35 years since a certain night in Rotterdam, and plenty of lows. Both my lads play so I enjoy, or sometimes endure, that too at weekends, certainly it's an antidote to the modern pro game. Good to have a break from it but after a while it drags and I can't wait for it to start all over again! As for my sis, gone away in a caravan for the weekend, and she gets the prospect of thunderstorms and torrential rain! No rest for the wicked. Here it was supposed to be a nice start to the day but the cloud and rain has blown in early, so other stuff to do. Enjoy the weekend, cheers.

Bob,
On your way home, keep yourself flexible for a visit to Fairford. Might be some B-52s in.
Keep an eye on the "BALTOPS/SABRE STRIKE 2017" thread - even when you are down there.
Enjoy your trip whatever you do.
Cheers,
Bob
