Only thing for yourself is the insurance, very expensive- see if your Grandad can get you on his may keep the price down or get one of those boxes they fit to make sure you are not a boyracer then when you have passed your test you can take turn's apiece driving to aviation events. Hired a Corsa last year to go to Aero-Expo and that was ok as well. Happy Days Bob

Cheers, my mate has one and he loves it - had a few prangs but still going strong as ever. Yes mate that's the plan - brings it down by £800 or so - win win. Looking at £1600 insurance with him!! Indeed, that's the plan - to go to aviation events. You'll see me everywhere!! LOL. Dylan

Just a couple of freighters for me today, B-2094 77F of Air China and Turkish A330F TC-JDR.
LHR using 09 all day but nothing I needed except new Saudia 773 HZ-AK35, which had landed before I knew it was on the way. Can no longer see 09 departures (were always difficult anyway) as a new extension on a house across the way blocks the view! Should have objected to the planning application!

Caught up with Atlas ZM409 (as "ASCOT416") this afternoon. Not bad, as I missed its delivery on the day before I went to Mildenhall and now I make it on the day after I come back!!

LHR using 09s is usually a real pain, as I live under the Biggin stack, but this morning managed to catch the Finnair A350 OH-LWE turning north quite a while after departure.

And just made N910JW F900 over Midhurst, nice strobes seen through the binos, and OO-JAV on JAF22B went directly over the house, strobes like a B787. 6 for the day, not bad! 23:15, made N786AV B787 out of LHR. Very nice! Just realized, day off Friday, £7.70 return to LGW on the train, so it's either LGW or Farnborough!

Another freighter today following two yesterday, just managed to spot A7-AFI A330F Qatar through a gap in the gathering clouds inbound STN on the QR8781 from Accra, Ghana. THis used to be a regular Sunday service but had not seen it for the last few months.
Earlier sunshine enabled me to make EC-MIO A330 routing KEF-CDG on a WOW flight, and EI-FTA 738 on the FR23 Beauvais-DUB. Once again LHR using 09, but nothing of interest showed up.

Also made A7-AFI today as it crossed London at FL180. Normally impossible to locate but it passed just underneath a trail I was watching, so this was most definitely a fluke.

Been busy decorating the landing, stairs and hall this week so only one has troubled the scorer so far and that was yesterday and a bit lucky as well as this flight doesn't normally fly over my neck of the woods:
TC-JVU B737 Turkish (DUB-IST)

Taking a well earned coffee break from the decorating has enable two more to be logged:
HZ-ARC B787-9 Saudia (last one) N8767 BBJ (FR24 suggests it was out of Gatwick,it's height would be about right)

I noted EUF routing Dubai - Manchester on Monday Jerry whilst I was at Birmingham for a meeting..
Dylan, good luck with the car hunting. Had you considered a Fiesta? Cheap to run, you can buy spare parts everywhere and they're inexpensive, they are very easy to work on if you do have a problem and when my Missus' lad wanted his first car about two years ago, the Fiesta was way cheaper on the insurance than Corsas, small Peugeots, Clios, etc. It might pay to do some dummy searches for insurance on Compare the Market, GoCompare and the other comparison sites.

Morning Graham, cheers for that - will take a look. Yeah, done a few of them already but didn't even think of Fiestas for some reason!! Will take a look mate. Ta Dylan Update: Just looked, Fiestas are waaay cheaper! £1200pa (after a year on a provisional, which is £350/400) with my Grandad named on it, £2000 without him on it..!

Just one for me today, TC-JVM 738 on the TK1967 DUB-IST. Missed TC-JVU yesterday which davidallum saw on the same routing. The Turkish 738s and 739s are difficult to get now as they rarely visit LHR and while they are into LGW every day I can't see any of the LGW inbounds or outbounds.

Much later....think MROO is actually now G-ZEUZ, per GINFO. Based with Centreline at Bristol. Solves my query at least!
