Low cloud today has meant that I've missed 5 pots but did manage to get one late afternoon:

Sorry Graham, only read your post earlier. A reasonably good day here at Devizes International with 5 in the book. Early bad weather meant I missed KC-135 59-1466 and B737 01-0015. Did manage these though....

Managed the 1 C-17 today 08-8203 [AE2FAF] on an unusual routing. Came up over Biscay to LND, then EXMOR, MAM and then the usual routing into Ramstein (diversion ?). Huge trail. Mustn't grumble. Cheers, Bob

Just one for me today, but a good one, my last Turkish passenger heavy, 773 TC-LJI on LHR 09 approach (still need A330Fs TC-JDP/OY) but heavy cloud precluded any further frames.

Needed Omni Air 767F N477AX made a mystery flight out of Shannon earlier today, routing to just north of Venice and then returning to Shannon! Unfortunately both when it passed eastbound and later westbound it was cloudy.
Another rarity today was American 757 N691AA on the AA121 CDG-JFK. MIssed it of course! I do nor recall seeing any in the 69x range on transatlantic routes recently, though I think they were used into Manchester when American first used 757s transatlantic.

Rain early, clouds now clearing slowly from the west, just in time to reveal PH-BHI 789 on the KL705 to Rio at FL360, not trailing.

The weather has been generally quite good this past week, with very little rain or cloud, when it has rained it has been overnight. I haven't posted my daily logs for a while so this brings them up to date.

After the usual Sunday morning 305AMW KC-10A going up TR1 over my house inbound Mildenhall (87-0121 showing as "BLUE71" but calling "RCH895"), there was a steady stream of RCH flights going up the East coast.
Then about 1600, two in rapid succession decided that they were routing NAVPI > MAM > EXMOR - and I needed both ("RCH659" 07-7188 and "RCH530" 00-0176)!!!
Nothing else has troubled the airways around Melksham AFB.

Boomp, boomp, boomp, boomp........another one bites the dust!!
"RCH637" 62AW McChord C-17A 00-0180 [AE0816] at FL340 routing MAM (at 11.01BST) > EXMOR > LUNDY. It was lit up beautifully by the sun with a shortish trail.
Unfortunately, I didn't need the other McChord bird, "RCH428" C-17A 10-0219 [AE4F13] at FL350 which routed NUMPO (at 17.36BST) > MAM > NAVPI. Long trail.
Cheers,
Bob

Better day with 7 frames made
ZA679 Chinook routing along the Thames OE-FBD C.510 inbound LTN D-CARO C.680 out of MAN heading SSE G-MCAN AW.109, think it went to BIG D-AEWN A320 Germanwings LHR departure D-AIUY A320 Lufthansa LHR departure G-PRPE FlyBe Exeter-Norwich
Have noticed that PlaneFinder is showing less biz than previously. Can anyone help me with a CL604 heading WNW at FL380 trailing around 15.35, squawk 7515?

Was thinking about getting ready for the footie yesterday evening when I managed to rattle off three more in very quick time:
TC-JZH B737 Turkish EI-FJU B737 Norwegian VP-CRS Falcon 7X
After that it went downhill as Reading lost at home to Aston Villa 2-1 to a 90th minute penalty.

12.56BST The cloud had just rolled over and obscured TR1 when.....
3 x KC-135s ("QUID439/440/441") and 2 x B-52s ("MYTEE51/52") went over Melksham AFB in formation for refuelling.
What a miss!!!
EDIT:-
The weather gods smiled for their return trip.
17.36BST KC-135Rs "SPUR92" (63-8019) and "SPUR94" (63-8879) plus B-52H "MYTEE52" routed down TR1 BZN > VLN. 17.39BST KC-135Rs "SPUR91" (62-3545) and "SPUR93" (62-3529) plus B-52H "MYTEE51" routed down TR1 BZN > VLN.
Brucie bonus was that I needed "SPUR91".
Of note was that 62-3545 was using hexcode [AE0542] - which belongs to C-5A 70-0449 (in AMARG) - rather than [AE042A].
The bad news is that the B-52 serials that I have seen quoted on forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=75188 are 60-0025 and 60-0054 (don't know which was which). I saw those both at Marham on 23/04/1977!!!
Cheers,
Bob

Too much mist here and at Trowbridge, Olly. Couldn't fail too hear them, though.
Hope to get them on their return - around 12.05 - 12.15 if the "SPUR" tankers launch on time (11.20BST).

That's a shame Bob! Agree, bloody loud!
Thanks for the info, looks like the tankers are heading out now.
